It is designed to smooth out some of the additional noise created by modern IPS screen upgrades, reducing some of the crackle and hiss coming from the speaker \/ headphones.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eAudio Amp \u0026amp; Speaker Upgrade\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnother mod from Helder's Game Tech. This mod creates a significant increase in the sound volume output from this console. Additionally, a 2W uprated speaker has been installed to take advantage of the new power levels provided by this audio amp upgrade.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eUprated Capacitors\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt over 20 years old, it is not uncommon for the larger capacitors in the GBA console to begin to fail, leading to reduced audio volume, or even fail completely, potentially leading to a non-working console.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRather than just replace with like for like, I have gone one step further and replaced the aging, original capacitors with uprated tantalum capacitors as recommended by Helder's Game Tech.
